Enroute you visit Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage was established for feeding and providing care and sanctuary to orphaned baby elephants that were found in the wild. In the evening you visit the heart of the cultural triangle and a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site Dambulla cave temple. You spend the night in a tree house for a change.
Your day will start with the rural village tour with a great opportunity to feel the pulse of the rural villages and its people with the picturesque village, music of the birds, refreshing cup of Ceylon tea. Then we bring you to another UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site. Sigiriya is home to a Rock Fortress of King Kasyappa during the 5th Century AD.
Pidurangala rock is less well-known and significantly smaller than Sigiriya, however it offers fantastic 360 degrees views of the landscape and Sigiriya rock. Pidurangala rock is home to the Pidurangala Rajamaha Viharaya, which is a white temple. In the evening, you will attend a protected jeep safari in Minneriya National Park to see the hundreds of elephants gathering at the lake side.
The Knuckles range has many hiking trails which would encounter more stunning scenery and landscapes. The Knuckles is home to a rich ecosystem of birds, amphibians, mammals, reptiles, stunning vegetation and trees. We arrange for spending the night camping under the stars which is an unforgettable and unique experience.
Enroute you can visit Bambaragan oya waterfall view and Gal Oya bathing place. In the evening, we arrange a Boat ride in Muthurajawela marsh. This wetland is popular among local & foreign travelers as Muthurajawela bird watching site as it is amazing.
